Research from the University of Iowa, indicates that ‘by 2020 the sheer volume of medical knowledge will double every 73 days.’ Managing our patients as a whole versus focused areas, represents the future of health care delivery. Collaboration among professionals provides an enrichment of knowledge resulting in a “dream team” approach for our patients. Mutual efforts to obtain, share and process information, contributes to consistent optimal care.
In dentistry, reflecting upon past “game changers”, allows us to contemplate and recognize future inter-disciplinary opportunities within the health care industry.
