8:30 am Radiographic interpretation:
Wish to spruce up on the interpretation of radiographs or wonder about the record keeping expectations when exposing radiographs? This course will review key components of interpretation through case study practice activities. There will be a focus on the basics of radiographic interpretation affecting dental hygiene care, including caries, periodontal disease and the accompanying documentation.
10:30 am Record Keeping:
Ever wonder whether you are writing too much or too little in your client’s charts? Exceptional record keeping is a requirement of quality client care which is a focus of a dental hygienist’s standards of practice. This seminar will review record keeping regulations and participants will have the opportunity to identify, practice and discuss record keeping practices.
Terri Strawn, RRDH, BDScDH, graduated from Algonquin College with honours in 2003. She completed a post graduate diploma, with honours, in Restorative Dental Hygiene from Algonquin College in 2004, Local Anesthesia Certification from the University of Alberta in 2006, and her Bachelor of Dental Science in Dental Hygiene from the University of British Columbia in 2009.
Terri has been a dental hygiene educator since 2006. Currently she serves as a dental hygiene professor at Algonquin, Georgian and Durham Colleges and is in private practice in Whitby, On 4 days per week. She specializes in clinical dental hygiene special needs client care, local anesthesia, restorative dental hygiene (dental materials) and community health care.
She is a self-professed dental hygiene addict and spends her free time with her husband and three year old son as well as completing her Masters of Education in Post-Secondary Studies.
