“The Balancing Act”-Finding Harmony & Results with Instrumentation
This course will provide a practical overview of instrumentation with a focus on balancing ultrasonic and hand debridement. Both magnetostrictive and piezoelectric ultrasonic scaling will be discussed to be able to make client specific decisions for effective clinical outcomes. A hands-on component will provide instruction in both magnetostrictive and piezoelectric technologies and a discussion on hand instrument designs and techniques will provide information to make client centered debridement decisions. This “Balancing Act” approach to ultrasonic and hand instrumentation selection will provide clinicians with information to make instrumentation decisions in order to treat diverse cases in everyday practice.
Upon completion of this course, the participants will be able to:
- Identify the many hand and power instrumentation options available to manage diverse client cases
- Identify strategies in obtaining necessary instrumentation to enhance patient experiences and clinical outcomes.
- Discuss practical approaches to increase efficiency.
- Identify and select quality instruments to meet the needs of their patients in order to pice efficiently
