PREREQUSITE: Contemporary Ultrasonic Instrumentation-A Visual Presentation (Level 1)
Join us for a highly progressive, unique workshop that will take you to the next level in patient care and help you meet the demands of today’s non-surgical periodontal therapy. This course is designed as a continuum to “Contemporary Ultrasonic Instrumentation Part 1.” Participants will have the opportunity to build from their current ultrasonic knowledge and skill level and achieve an improved level of clinical confidence using ultrasonic instrumentation. Manikin heads, typdonts, simulated evacuation devices, wheeled chairs, ultrasonic inserts and handpieces will be provided as participants practice ultrasonic instrument selection, sequencing and adaptation. Ergonomics will also be a focus of this workshop.
COURSE OBJECTIVES: At the completion of this course the participant will be able to:
- Demonstrate the most effective principles of ultrasonic instrumentation including grasp, fulcrum and insertion angulation.
- Select the appropriate inserts and strategically sequence ultrasonic instrumentation in the most safe and effective manner.
- Demonstrate ultrasonic insert adaptation in anatomically challenging situations.
- Give examples of evacuation tools that are available to assist clinicians with ultrasonic procedures.
